Updated over 3 months ago

1. Navigate to the Onboarding Settings

These settings are only available to users with the Admin role.

  1. Click the menu in the top-left corner of the Hives.co platform.

  2. Select Admin to open the Admin portal.

  3. Select Hive and Click the Onboarding tab.

2. Manage Group Selection During Onboarding

The Group selection feature allows you to mandate that new users self-select a relevant Group upon joining the platform. This helps ensure users are immediately routed to relevant content streams.

Require Group Selection

  • To make Group selection mandatory: Toggle on the switch next to Required.

    • Result: When a new user signs in, they will be prompted to choose a Group before they can fully access the platform.

  • To make Group selection optional: Toggle off the switch.

    • Result: New users can skip Group selection upon sign-in.

Customize Group Selection Guide

Use the Guide box to provide instructions or context to users when they are prompted to pick their Group.

  1. Type your custom instructions into the text editor box.

  2. Use the formatting tools (e.g., Bold, Italic, lists) to clearly communicate what users should do or why Group selection is important.

3. Set User Consent and Terms Requirements

The Consent section allows you to require new users to formally accept your organization's terms, policies, or code of conduct before they can contribute or fully use the platform.

Require User Consent

  • To make acceptance of terms mandatory: Toggle on the switch next to Required.

    • Result: New users will be shown the Consent text and must agree to it before they are granted full contribution permissions.

  • To make consent optional: Toggle off the switch.

Define Consent Text

The Consent text is the specific policy or terms users must agree to. This text is shown only if the Required toggle is active.

  1. Type the full text of the terms, policies, or guidelines (e.g., "Do you agree to be nice when being on his platform?" as shown in the image) into the large Consent text box.

  2. Use the formatting tools to ensure the policies are clear, readable, and scannable.
