  1. Access the Questions Section: Navigate to the Build tab of your survey and scroll down to the Questions area.

  2. Open the Question Creator: Click the Add question button located in the center of the section.

  3. Choose a Question Type: In the "Add question" modal that appears, click the Question type dropdown menu.

  4. Select Your Format: Choose the type of question that best fits your needs from the following list:

    • Rating: Perfect for measuring satisfaction or sentiment on a scale.

    • Text field: Allows for open-ended, qualitative responses.

    • Attachment: Enables contributors to upload files or documents as part of their response.

    • Single-select: Provides a list of options where only one can be chosen.

    • Voting: Useful for prioritizing items or quick pulse-checks.

    • Multi-select: Allows contributors to choose multiple options from a list.

  5. Configure and Save: After selecting a type, enter your question text and configure any specific settings (like required fields) before saving it to your survey.

Understanding Question Types

Type

Best Use Case

Rating

Quick sentiment analysis (e.g., "How would you rate this meeting?")

Text field

Detailed feedback (e.g., "What is your biggest concern?")

Single/Multi-select

Categorical data (e.g., "Which department are you in?")

Attachment

Evidence or documentation (e.g., "Upload your project draft.")

Pro Tip: Keep your surveys concise. A mix of Rating and Text field questions usually provides a good balance of quantitative data and qualitative insight without overwhelming the respondent.
